"THE SANISYSTEM IS YOUR BEST ALLY IN THE BATTLE AGAINST CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) IN THE ENVIRONMENT."

SaniChem, our chemical division, has developed and introduced into the market SaniSystem; an area decontamination system for the control of viruses such as Coronavirus (COVID-19), bacteria and fungus. The SaniSystem comprises of using our thermal foggers or ULV machines to generate a mist or fog with tiny droplets of our leading disinfectant SaniGuard. The system also includes the atomisation of our SF Sanifog Disinfectant Aerosol Fogger, a ready-to-use highly effective disinfectant, in a pressurised can.

SANIGUARD

Building on the tried and tested BacAtac, SaniGuard NRCS Reg. No.: Act5 GNR529/281852/040/1086 is a novel patented modification of DDAC (Didecyl Dimethyl Ammonium Chloride) molecule, designed to be atomised via a Thermal fog or ULV machine. Common DDAC is a known molecule that easily kills Coronavirus. The unique synthesis of the active ingredient in SaniGuard has dramatically boosted the efficacy of the standard DDAC molecule to a point where high pathogen kill rates are attained at low toxicity rates, thus creating a versatile package of applications.

The formulation of SaniGuard includes bio-oil mixtures. The mixture of bio-oils is a vital component for the efficacy of the fogging or misting system enabling for an extended period of flotation, allowing for maximum contact time and further reach, thus higher killing rates.

This system has been largely tested and shown to have high success kill rates on pathogens, and yet at low toxicity rates. SaniGuard is so safe that it could be given to day-old chicks; however, it is so powerful that at dosing levels as low as 20 millilitres of SaniGuard per 1000 litres of water (1:50000), it controls 1000 virus particles per millilitre of water after 24-hour exposure.

Saniguard has excellent biodegradability and consequently, low environmental impact. Because it is genuinely non-corrosive and does not oxidise, Saniguard preserves the premises and equipment.

SaniGuard is no pH-dependant and works at a wide range of temperatures.

SF Sanifog

SF SANIFOG

SF Sanifog, similarly to SaniGuard, is a novel DDAC that efficiently kills Coronavirus (COVID-19). It is a disinfectant which has been widely used for the disinfection of areas such as offices buildings, shopping centres, movie theatres, restaurants, gyms, schools, houses, vehicles, planes, factories, hospitals, clinics, governmental institutions and more. It has also been extensively used in the poultry and other agriculture sectors of many parts of the world.

SF SaniFog is non-corrosive and the least toxic disinfectant in the market. SF Sanifog is of such low toxicity that it is registered in many parts of the world for the spraying on poultry.

Besides the low toxicity, what makes SF SaniFog so unique is that it is a highly effective disinfectant in a simple-to-use system enabling full coverage of the target area in minutes.

The SF-Sanifog Disinfectant Aerosol Fogger is ready-to-use in a pressurised can. Once triggered, the can will empty, producing a very fine aerosol mist which can be used to disinfect any closed area of approximately up to 150 m³ per 500 g aerosol can. The fog will reach all areas of the environment, offering total protection.

VIRUSES

SOME INSIGHTS ON VIRUS
CLASSIFICATIONS

Some characteristics used in the classification of viruses

Viruses are classified according to the nature of their genome and their structure.

All viruses contain a nucleic acid genome (RNA or DNA) and a protective protein coat (called the capsid). Amongst other classifications, viruses may or may not have an envelope. Enveloped viruses obtain their envelope by budding through a host cell membrane.

Enveloped viruses do not necessarily have to kill cells to be released since they can bud out of the cell – a process which is not necessarily lethal to the cell – hence some budding viruses can set up persistent infections.

Enveloped viruses are readily infectious only if the envelope is intact (since the viral attachment proteins which recognise the host cell receptors are in the viral envelope). Consequently, agents which damage the envelope, such as alcohols, detergents and disinfectants, reduce infectivity or cause inactivation of the virus. Viruses with this lipid-containing envelope are relatively more sensitive to disinfectants.

Unlikely the enveloped viruses, the naked or nonenveloped viruses such as feline Calicivirus (moderately resistant RNA virus) and canine Parvovirus (highly resistant DNA virus) are protected by a resistant protein capsid. They are difficult to inactivate and therefore considered as suitable models for assessment of the efficacy of disinfectants. In published trials where Parvovirus is inactivated, all other viruses can also be inactivated.

Coronaviruses are enveloped viruses, thus generally much more susceptible to the action of disinfectants than the highly resistant naked viruses. The inactivation of the enveloped virus is much easier to achieve.

How effective is SaniGuard and SF SaniFog in killing pathogens?

SaniGuard and SF SaniFog are effective against all groups of pathogens (bacteria, virus and fungus). All tests were certified and conducted using internationally accepted codes of laboratory practices (CLP).

SaniGuard’s technical active was extensively tested against a wide range of naked viruses. The naked viruses, such as Parvovirus, Circoviruses, Reoviruses, Adenoviruses and Birnaviruses, are widely regarded as the most challenging viruses to kill. SaniGuard is effective against all of these viruses.

SaniGuard is also effective against all enveloped viruses which is generally much more susceptible to the action of disinfectants than the highly resistant naked viruses. SaniGuard is highly effective against Coronavirus (COVID-19), orthomyxoviruses (Influenza virus) and paramyxovirus (Newcastle disease virus).

SaniGuard was able to achieve a >99.999 killing efficacy within a 5 minute contact time against all viable bacteria in accordance with SANS51276:2009. SaniGuard has also achieved a >99.9% killing efficacy against Bacillus subtilis Spores and Clostridium perfringens spores within a 60 minute contact period as prescribed by SANS13704:2002.

SaniGuard should be applied using ULV or Thermal Fog machines such as SaniNova, Green Mega ULV Mist, Blue Bird, Thunder Bird, Green Max Fog, Green Prime ULV Twin or Green Mega Fog, producing the correct droplet size for the target application. The choice of machine will depend on the requirements and size of the area to be treated.

Why should we be using SaniSystem?

The protection of employees and customers’ health sets the foundation for the success of contemporary companies. More than ever, it is a critical task for institutions and organisations to create a healthy and safe working environment for its employees, reducing the potential community transmission of viruses, fungi and bacteria, promoting the trust of the customers.

It is vital to take steps to ensure that the public and private areas of corporations are not only clean but disinfected. The outlining for a healthy environment must include systems to diminish the spread of a wide variety of infectious diseases.

The SaniSystem can significantly reduce the number of pathogens both on surfaces and in the air. The fog droplets float in the treated area for long periods. It can settle underneath, on top of and on the sides of furniture, equipment and objects that are hard to reach or inaccessible using conventional cleaning methods. It also quickly and thoroughly reaches a broader range of surfaces, in small or large areas, than the manual cleaning. The swift treatment of large areas in a short space of time helps to break the chain of the infection quickly.

Our comprehensive range of machines allows for the thorough disinfection of small offices or extensive areas with the same impressive efficiency and efficacy.

The use of SaniSystem is a powerful strategy of fast environmental decontamination. It is efficient, quick and easy to apply in a wide range of markets, including shopping centres, offices, educational institutions, governmental buildings, hotels, residential homes, and many more.
